What is the best way to celebrate Women’s History Month? (Also known as National Women’s Month.)
As you likely know, and perhaps have already been celebrating, it is one of the themes of the month of March!
But what does that mean??
This website gives a little context if you care to read up on the history of Women’s Month.
I love to celebrate this month because appreciating the achievements of women throughout history is very meaningful to me. Not only women of the past, but also women of today.
Like you. (Or if you’re a male reading this, that’s OK. But it’s not your month!)
How do you celebrate Women’s History Month?
I’m curious to hear your answers. Please drop a comment at the bottom of this page!
I’m also going to take the next few paragraphs to tell you about how my team at Carry Courage and I celebrate.
It involves the way we do business, who we do it for, and why.
First of all, as I alluded to, I always celebrate women - not just in March. In my experience, I’ve found that women can unite in powerful ways to support one another in our journeys - as young adults, middle-aged, moms, daughters, business owners and friends.
When we celebrate one another, seek to lift each other up instead of tearing down, and support each other’s dreams and goals, our outlook on life becomes so much more empowering and productive than trying to go it alone.
That’s always been my philosophy. My tribe of fierce and amazing lady friends and associates have my back, and I have theirs.
I believe with all my heart that is the way life is meant to be lived.
Our tribe is made up of women who love sustainable, eco-friendly handbags, purses and accessories!
The women (and the men who love them) that buy our products often have a burden for caring for the earth and environment. They are drawn to Carry Courage because of our commitment to fair labor practices and sustainable materials - offering beautiful, hand-crafted products without compromise.
It is our joy to be kind to the earth and use materials from products like cork fabric and linen. They not only last longer than mass-produced products, but they are biodegradable, so they leave a small, diminishing footprint after you are done with them.
We’ve been delighted to meet so many like-minded women in our journey from starting Carry Courage up to the present day.
Together, we are making a difference against fast fashion and waste.
As it pertains to Women’s History Month, and my philosophy stated above, it all melds together nicely. While the sisterhood of all women transcends artificial barriers such as race, age, education level and marital status, the quest each of us takes to find our tribe is different.
Some travel in packs of like-minded individuals, while others have a circle that contains a variety of viewpoints. Regardless of what your group of gals looks like, this month is a stellar opportunity to celebrate women from all walks of life.
Our why? To inspire, collaborate, and do good.
Since the products we make are for intentional, courageous women (and those who aspire to be those things), Women’s History Month is extra meaningful.
The opportunity I’ve been given as the founder of Carry Courage was made possible thanks to many who fought for women’s rights over the last century. If they hadn’t laid the groundwork, maybe I’d never have been able to start my own business that allows me to make beautiful products for you, while supporting my family.
What is your why?
I am so curious to know that, and how you celebrate Women’s History Month, as I asked at the beginning. Please leave a comment with your thoughts. I would love to hear from you!
If I can answer any questions about products, or give you a word of encouragement, I’m here for you! Send me a message and I’ll reply as soon as I can!
Thank you for reading this post!
I appreciate you,
Marisa
